Starbucks Money Saving Tip

Posted on Thursday, January 28, 2010 in Starbucks | Viewed 313 times

image Do you like to drink Starbucks latte everyday or do you think it’s sinful to spend money on a latte when a lot of people are starving?  A blogger at a Chinese website “Kai Xin Wang” wrote this Starbucks saving tip for those who are on a budget but can’t get enough of your daily dose of latte.

Here are the steps in creating a Starbucks latte for half the price:

  • Bring your own Starbucks mug at your nearest Starbucks store and buy a cup of espresso.
  • At the condiments counter, pour 3/4 cup of milk into your own mug.
  • Pour your cup of espresso into your own mug.
  • Stir your concoction and add necessary flavors like cinnamon or chocolate.

Easy right?!  With only the price of an espresso, you’ll get your own cafe latte.  I haven’t tried it yet but I might do so in the near future.   Post your experience if you’ve tried the tip above and let other readers know if it worked to your satisfaction.

Now.. where did my Starbucks mug go?

Facebook Game Review: Barn Buddy

Posted on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in Games | Viewed 4,668 times

barn-buddyBlame it on Facebook that I haven’t had time to write any blogs.  Hehehe!  I’m currently addicted with the games that they have.  For this post, I will be reviewing Barn Buddy.  I first notice this game when one of my friends posted that she sold x number of coins.  As I can’t play Bejeweled in the office, I tried loading this game.

Woohoo!  it bypassed our company’s firewall!  Barn Buddy shouldn’t be Barn Buddy but Farm Buddy.  Basically, you have to plant vegetables or fruits to earn coins.  You can purchase different seeds depending on your level and fertilizers.   The only fertilizer you can buy with your coins is the weak fertilizer which lessens the growth time by an hour.  The other two fertilizers can be bought using credits or given free when you level.

“Life is Hard” .. A phrase which is in the lips of most people nowadays as prices of everything is increasing and our incomes doesn’t increase as much. Then, how can we cope and weather through this difficult times? I’m no expert but here are some of the tips I’ve read from different websites.

1. Turn your hobby into income – If you’re good at cooking or baking, you can probably sell your goodies to your friends/colleagues/relatives. If you have a passion to teach, tutor people! If you are visually creative, try to create something that’s useful and unique. Sell your stuff in Ebay or Multiply.

2. Recycle – Bottles, newspapers, boxes.. they’re trash which you can sell. You may not earn much but each cent counts. In China, they don’t like bottles unless it’s beer bottles. The old lady in the street usually carries a bag and search for empty plastic bottles in the trash bin. As for me, I collect the free magazines which comes out every month and sell it when I have a lot along with my empty plastic bottles.
