Project Runway Season 7

Posted on Sunday, April 25, 2010 in TV | Viewed 184 times

I’m a fashion-challenged individual who would like to be comfortable than pretty and whose style is in the border of old fashioned and severe.  My colleagues often tell me to put more color in my outfits but I can’t seem to gravitate out of the blacks, browns and grays which are standard for a corporate attire.

Fashion is not something on top of my list and somehow watching Project Runway educates me about fashion.  Heh!  This season of Project Runway brought them back to New York and Parsons.  Sixteen designers were given challenges each week to see who would make or break in this fast-paced fashion industry.  Heidi Klum who’s beautifully pregnant is back as the host with Tim Gunn as the fashion mentor.  The season has officially ended with Seth Aaron Henderson emerging as the winner.

Season Finale, Part 2

Posted on Monday, June 1, 2009 in TV | Viewed 307 times

csi_nyDuring the 3 day holiday, I got the chance to catch up with some of my favorite shows.  It was a boring holiday as there wasn’t that much things to do.  In any case, Medium is the only one which hasn’t ended their season and  I’m looking forward to the start of The Closer by mid-June.

Who Died In The Drive-by Shooting?

I hate cliffhangers especially if I have to wait for 3 months before I will see the outcome.  In this season of CSI: NY, the team was blessed with a wedding between Danny & Lindsay and a baby.  We also saw a budding romance between Detectives Jess and Don.  Stella finding her roots and solving the artifact case.  The team facing a budget cut and helping Adam keep his job.

Season Finale, Part 1

110458_D_1956Most of my favorite shows are about to end or have already ended.  It’s been one heck of a season for some of them and I’d like to say Kudos to the writers who in their own way kept the audiences captivated and makes them want more.  I know I could never be that kind of writer so I might as well just honor them.

First Love Never Dies

In Season 3 of Ugly Betty, a lot of ups and downs happened at Mode with Connor running away with the company’s money and almost close the business down.  Daniel turning back from his man-whore ways and marry her princess in the form of a kindergarten teacher named Molly but loses her in the end from cancer.  Wilhelmina finding love in Connor, having a baby and being her devious self.  Mark and Betty entering the YETI program.  Hilda finding love in unexpected ways with a councilman.  Ignacio having a heart attack, joining a cooking competition on TV, falling in love with a nurse and learning to let go of her daughters.  Christina being a surrogate but later found that the baby is really hers.

House – Season 5, Episode 20

kutnerI know this is a week late but I feel that the message should be sent out to everyone.  This episode of House is truly a shocking one, not just for the characters but also for the viewers.  It really put a twist to the season and made me realize something about life.  The patient which usually comes first becomes last in this episode.

The Patient

The show started with a scene of a guy who has only a few weeks to live and his wife saying their last goodbyes.  However, in a twist of fate, the wife suddenly had difficulty breathing.  Next scene, the team were discussing about the case and the patient wishing to be released to be with her husband.  Taub, with his brilliant idea, brought the husband to her side.  As she found out that they were releasing her, she faked a symptom, which House later found out.   However, when House confronted her, she had a real attack which hit her liver and needs her to have a transplant.  The husband was willing to donate a part of his liver to prolong her life and give enough time to the doctors to find out what’s wrong with her but when they did, it was too late.  The disease was caused by sandflies from her secret trip to Rio.  While conducting the test to check if they’re compatible, they were able to find out a cure to her husband’s sickness.

Amazing Race 14, Episodes 1-3

Posted on Monday, March 9, 2009 in TV | Viewed 67 times

The Amazing Race started off last February 15 with 11 teams vying for the 1 million dollars prize.  They had to race around the world and solve puzzles or do tasks which are either physically or mentally stressful.  Players had to deal with flight problems, phobias and sudden change of weather that can make even the strongest team hate each other.

Episode 1:  (Los Alamitos, CA, USA to Stechelberg, Switzerland)

In this season of the Amazing Race, all 11 teams were transported by US Marine helicopters at their base in Los Alamitos, California.  From there the team were instructed to travel to Locarno, Switzerland on either Lufthansa or Air France then by train into Locarno.    The teams have to find the Church of San Antonio wherein they have to register in one of the three groups departing at 715am, 730am and 745am.

At their destination, Verzasca Dam, teams encountered a roadblock where one member of the team has to do a bungee jump on the same place where James Bond jumped in the “Goldeneye”.    After the jump, teams have to travel by train to Interlaken and find Kleine Rugen Weisse.

At Kleine Rugen Weisse, teams have to choose a pair of antique cheese rack and climb up a steep hill.  Once on top, they have to transport down 200 pounds of cheese to an aging shed.   Each cheese weigh 50 pounds and the hill ain’t helping as it’s slippery.  It was a mental and physical challenge for all players and those who give up will surely lose.  After transporting the cheese to the shed, the next clue pointed them to the first Pit Stop in the race, Stechelberg.
