I’m becoming a Facebook Addict!!!

Posted on Sunday, November 15, 2009 in Games | Viewed 261 times

image AAAAHHHHH…  I’m becoming a facebook addict!  It’s like going back to college years when I got several of my batch mates hooked on chatting.  Some even failed their subjects because they practically live inside the computer laboratory.  Now, I feel like I’m reliving my college years but instead of chatting playing facebook games.  Let’s see.. I’m into Cafe World, Barn Buddy, Mafia Wars, Pet Society, Restaurant City, Treasure Mania, Sorority Life, Castle Age, Farmville and Bejeweled.

Ever since I got my new laptop, I can play Pet Society, Restaurant City, Farmville and Bejeweled again.  (bad laptop!)  hahaha!  Oh well.  I’m just glad that I don’t have the same access as I have here at home as in the office or else my productivity will really go down.  If only I can say the same here at home.  I really should give up some of them already as it’s not healthy to have a lot.

Let’s see how do I go about playing all of those games:

  • Restaurant City  -  I usually login once a day to get the free ingredient and answer the trivia game.  If I’m planting something, I usually water them before and after work.
  • Sorority Life – Once a day is enough for this usually before bed time to avail of the free item as well as socialize.  My level is so high that it takes a long time to get your energy up.
  • Bejeweled – Twice a week.  This is a filler game but once I’m playing it I can’t seem to stop myself as I want to beat the person on top of my list.

Facebook Game Review: Sorority Life

Posted on Saturday, August 22, 2009 in Games | Viewed 2,809 times

On the Top 10 Facebook Games in August article of my brother in his blog,  I play six out of ten of them.  Among the six, I regularly play two, which is the first and the last among the list.  I’ve already reviewed the top game which is Mafia Wars on this article, while I’m going to review the tenth one today.

sisters

Sorority Life is a game for the ladies.  You get to dress up your characters on items which you can buy or won from the jobs.  I like it better than Sorority Sisters.  At first, it was a little bit difficult to understand but if you read through their forum you will find wonderful insights to get you feet rolling in the game.  In any War games, you need to build up your friends who will be part of your house.

In Sorority Life, a player is not restricted to having one character only.  You can have as much as 11 characters but can only play one at a time.  You can’t switch characters as often as you like and have to play that character for at least an hour.  If you switch to another character, the other characters won’t regenerate.  Also, you share the same number of brownie points, house members and stats.  This is a nice feature if you want to achieve some badges that you weren’t able to achieve like the hitting 20 levels in a day badge.

Facebook Game Review: Mafia Wars

Posted on Monday, June 22, 2009 in Games | Viewed 1,510 times

mw First thing.. Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful and hardworking dads out there.  Happy Father’s Day to my dad.  Sorry our conversation was cut off but my IP card ran out of money already.

Now.. back to regular programming..  hahahaha!  I’ve been doing a series of game review for Facebook and this is my third.  All the games I’ve reviewed so far, I’ve been playing it almost every day.  The one that’s been ruling my time the most is Mafia Wars.

I got hooked to this game probably two weeks ago.  I’m a fan of RPG games and this game never seem to let go of my attention.  I remember one night I slept late waiting for my energy to refill and level and woke up early to continue the game.  Now, I’m trying to complete the collections, complete the achievements/awards and level as fast as I can.

Facebook Game Review: Bejeweled

Posted on Saturday, June 13, 2009 in Games | Viewed 1,217 times

bejSince Barn Buddy requires a long wait time, I need another game to fill it up.  Bejeweled is a game wherein you require to exchange gems to match at least 3 similar gems in a vertical or horizontal pattern.  When Popcap released this game a few years ago, it wasn’t on my top list of games but it was one of my fillers.

I never thought I’ll get addicted playing this game on Facebook as I never was that much of a Facebook user.  However, recently, facebook games seems to dominate my time.

In any case, Bejeweled in Facebook has a time limit of 1 minute.  The goal is to score as much points within a minute.  You compete against your friends for the top position.  For Facebook users in the US, Canada and UK, they have a weekly tournament wherein your team score will make you eligible to win some prizes from Popcap.

Facebook Game Review: Barn Buddy

Posted on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in Games | Viewed 3,477 times

barn-buddyBlame it on Facebook that I haven’t had time to write any blogs.  Hehehe!  I’m currently addicted with the games that they have.  For this post, I will be reviewing Barn Buddy.  I first notice this game when one of my friends posted that she sold x number of coins.  As I can’t play Bejeweled in the office, I tried loading this game.

Woohoo!  it bypassed our company’s firewall!  Barn Buddy shouldn’t be Barn Buddy but Farm Buddy.  Basically, you have to plant vegetables or fruits to earn coins.  You can purchase different seeds depending on your level and fertilizers.   The only fertilizer you can buy with your coins is the weak fertilizer which lessens the growth time by an hour.  The other two fertilizers can be bought using credits or given free when you level.

Ipod Touch Game Review: China Mahjong 2

Posted on Monday, March 23, 2009 in Games | Viewed 52 times

mahjongI love my iPod Touch.  It’s the perfect replacement to my Palm Zire 72 which keeps dying on me in the middle of the game.  I read ebooks using Stanza, note down my expenses using iXpenseIT, write notes using Fliq and surf the web using Safari.  I also load it up with games like Solitaire, Word Wrap, Deal or No Deal (Lite), Mancala, TicTacTouch and Bowl Lite.

As I only have a credit card issued in China, I can only buy apps from the Chinese Apps Stores.  This is a bummer because the China store doesn’t have a Games category and if they do have games they’re kinda corny.  A games which I’ve been searching for quite some time is Mahjong.  This Mahjong is not the pairs game which is readily available from the US apps store but the Chinese Mahjong with the chow, pong and win.
