Facebook Game Review: Mafia Wars

Posted on Monday, June 22, 2009 in Games | Viewed 1,514 times

mw First thing.. Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful and hardworking dads out there.  Happy Father’s Day to my dad.  Sorry our conversation was cut off but my IP card ran out of money already.

Now.. back to regular programming..  hahahaha!  I’ve been doing a series of game review for Facebook and this is my third.  All the games I’ve reviewed so far, I’ve been playing it almost every day.  The one that’s been ruling my time the most is Mafia Wars.

I got hooked to this game probably two weeks ago.  I’m a fan of RPG games and this game never seem to let go of my attention.  I remember one night I slept late waiting for my energy to refill and level and woke up early to continue the game.  Now, I’m trying to complete the collections, complete the achievements/awards and level as fast as I can.

I should have consulted my brother before I created my character as once you’ve created it, you can’t change the class you are in.  There are three classes: mogul (money-maker), fearless and maniac.  My brother said the best one is maniac as the energy needed to level is less.

The game has jobs, fights, skill points, inventory, properties and the godfather.  Cool huh?  Kinda like a real mafia.  They recently introduced the Cuban destination but the downside to it is you have to start from scratch in terms of money.  You get more jobs as you level and each job has three levels (Regular, Skilled and Master).  If you master one job, you get a special bonus prize and an achievement.  Each time you complete an achievement, you get a bonus skill points.

I’m not the best of this game but I really enjoy it, my only concern is I have a few mafia members as I really don’t want to include strangers.  If you need help in any of the collections and I have spare, I’ll be happy to send it your way.

Back to my game..

Verdict: 5 out of 5.  It’s so addicting!

Maniac class doesnt have a discount on energy per job. it just have a faster energy timer of 3 minutes compared to mogul and fearless’ 5 minutes.

  2. [...] and the last among the list.  I’ve already reviewed the top game which is Mafia Wars on this article, while I’m going to review the tenth one [...]
