Blame it on Facebook that I haven’t had time to write any blogs.  Hehehe!  I’m currently addicted with the games that they have.  For this post, I will be reviewing Barn Buddy.  I first notice this game when one of my friends posted that she sold x number of coins.  As I can’t play Bejeweled in the office, I tried loading this game.

Woohoo!  it bypassed our company’s firewall!  Barn Buddy shouldn’t be Barn Buddy but Farm Buddy.  Basically, you have to plant vegetables or fruits to earn coins.  You can purchase different seeds depending on your level and fertilizers.   The only fertilizer you can buy with your coins is the weak fertilizer which lessens the growth time by an hour.  The other two fertilizers can be bought using credits or given free when you level.

You begin your farm with six plots of land.  Two of which has plants ready for harvest and the other two are still in the growing stage.  You also have the option to expand to another plot of land when you reach level 5.   However, before you can reach that level it will take days as plants grow real time and the higher level the plant is, the longer it takes to grow.

Tips to Gain Experience and Coins:

• Steal :  If you don’t have a dog, then your farm is vulnerable to your friends stealing your crops or adding bugs and weeds.  When you go to your friend’s farm, you have the option to steal from the crops that are ready to harvest.  If you have tons of friends, then you’ll get the chance to steal and earn a lot.
• De-bug and De-Weed :  When you go to your friend’s farm for the first time and they haven’t installed the barn buddy application, one of the plot of land has bugs, weeds and lacks water.  You water the plant, de-bug using bug spray and de-weed using weed spray.  Each time you do one of those, you get +2 experience point and +1 coin.
• If you know your friend is online, ask him/her to put bugs or weeds on your farm.  You get experience point every time you de-bug and de-weed it.
• To refrain people from stealing your crops, either get a dog buy referring 10 of your friends to install and play Barn Buddy or time your crop that the wait is as long as your sleep.

Game Review:  3 out of 5.  Good way to pass time in the office as you can leave it while you’re doing your work.
